Kenneth Cervone

Orthopedic Surgeon


Board-certified Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Cervone brings 25 years of experience in specialized orthopedic care to Associated Orthopedists of Detroit. A native of St. Clair Shores, he began his professional education at Wayne State University where he graduated with honors. Dr. Cervone then enrolled in Wayne State University School of Medicine earning his doctorate in 1991 and remaining in Detroit to complete his Orthopedic residency in 1996.

Over the years Dr. Cervone developed a special interest in shoulder replacements. To further his education, he embarked on an 18-month working apprenticeship under the tutelage of his partner Dr. Bishai, in addition to attending numerous hands-on skills courses over a five-year period.

Dr. Cervone currently holds multiple patents on a shoulder exercise machine that he designed to specifically target the rotator cuff muscles. His objective is to provide patients with an effective, efficient, and user-friendly method to strengthen the rotator cuff muscles for prehab, rehab, injury prevention, and improved athletic performance. This machine is currently in the final stages of assembly.

Dr. Cervone is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and currently serves as a clinical instructor for Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He was elected Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital for 18 years and was a four-year member of the Peer Review Committee, acting as Chairman in the final year of his service. He was featured in Hour Magazine’s Top Doc in 2006.

Dr. Cervone welcomes all patients seeking specialized orthopedic care, including second opinions, to Associated Orthopedists of Detroit PC. He is on staff at Beaumont Hospital Grosse Pointe, Henry Ford Hospital Macomb, and the Premier Surgery Center in Clinton Township, MI.
